I really want to establish an image, a look, a feel before I do anything else. Kinda backwards, isn’t it? Everyone says, write your business plan, get your marketing plan first, your objectives. All of that is very important, but um, boring! I know, I know, I have to do it. But the creative side of me calls, no SCREAMS!, at me on a daily basis. Welcome to my fully tested on paper split brain issue- 50% creative, 50% logical. Bodes well for what I’m diving into. But a nice long discussion in my brain on priorities yields paralysis at times. No wonder people buy franchises, or hang their hat with a real estate company. All that creative stuff is “done” for them. The image, the branding, the tag lines, the commercials. They just have to work IN their business. Ugh. I just want to create for others.
But I must create for myself first. For now, I will hit the books, and write out my game plan. So my company goes nameless for now- however, unofficially, it’s JLH Consulting.
For the record, I will definitely NOT be naming my marketing company XYZ Marketing Consulting. Eck. Don’t ever hire a marketing company with a boring name. And oh by the way, don’t ever hire a marketing company who says they can do all these wonderful things for your company but they don’t do it themselves for their company! That is for another discussion…
Anyway, I like funky, hip. I think my clothes can describe me. Well, my “going out clothes.” This is the image I want for my company: hip, professional, updated. I prefer to wear jeans, heels, funky fun top and chunky jewels. I like modern look and feel.
